Biedermeier sofas can seat 2-4 people depending on size. They go from about 160cm - 260cm.
Usually the wood in a swedish Biedermeier Sofa or Couch is a maple or golden birch veneer (or occasionally mahogany) with a plain unupholstered back as they were originally always used against a wall.
They have a wonderful curvacious satisfying shape with curved legs - often there will be some form of carving on the front of the arms if it is a better quality piece or ormulu ebony posts.
The more country style biedermeier sofa are usually golden birch and are much simpler in form.
